The Debaters Live on Tour is the comedy stage show where comics go toe to toe in a battle of laughs and logic and the audience picks the winner.  Award-winning comedian and host, Steve Patterson brings two of Canada’s top headlining stand-up comics, Erica Sigurdson and Derek Seguin to venues across Canada to delight crowds with an exhilarating exchange of facts and funny.
But that’s not all.  Before Steve launches into the debate portion, The Debaters Live on Tour show gets the hilarity rolling with a segment of smart stand-up comedy from all three of these world-class comics.

The Debaters Live on Tour features two debates in the format familiar to fans of the popular radio show The Debaters.  Program creator and tour producer, Richard Side, is excited to present this extraordinary line-up that will deliver the spring-time fun and leave audiences debating their favourite punch-lines.

About the host:

STEVE PATTERSON is an award-winning comedian with over two decades of international performance experience.  Best known as host of the long-running hit radio show and podcast The Debaters and theatre show The Debaters Live, Patterson’s brand of comedy is best described as honest and erudite combining well-crafted writing with unparalleled off-the-cuff wit. Twice named Canada’s Best Male Stand-Up at the Canadian Comedy Awards, Steve has also taken his award-winning humour to the literary world with The Book of Letters I Didn’t Know Where to Send and his newest release Dad Up! available wherever books are sold. In 2021, Patterson launched The Canadian Star System with the Apostrophe Podcast Company.

About the comedians:

ERICA SIGURDSON a Vancouver-based comedian, has been delighting audiences across Canada and beyond for close to two decades. Having been described as a ‘sugar-coated razor blade’ she is equal parts charming and sardonic with her take on the world around her. She has been featured over to 50 times on the hit show The Debaters on CBC Radio, performed at every major comedy festival in Canada as well as performed in Singapore, The Philippines, Thailand, Afghanistan and Iceland. She is also an advocate for Type 1 diabetes awareness, having lived with Type 1 since the age of 10.

DEREK SEGUIN is one of the most sought after stand-up comedians appearing at the Just For Laughs festival an impressive 11 times and on The Debaters on CBC Radio over forty times. This winner of Sirius XM’s Canada’s Top Comic competition in 2015, has appeared at all major festivals across our nation and has been described by GQ Magazine’s Comedy Editor as “A true star and Montreal’s pride and joy”. The Montreal Gazette raved “... What made it great, however, was not the boldness of his material but that he described it all in such childlike wonder. Brilliant.” Seguin’s latest comedy album, PanDerek -1^st Wave, has been nominated for a Juno Award.
