The Grand OnStage program ensures the annual curation of a multi-disciplinary performing arts season of professional performances from across Canada and around the world, including a robust education series for local students, many of whom will attend the theatre for the first time. To accomplish this, it takes a significant amount of revenue and funding from various streams; however, donations are critical to bridging the funding gap, allowing us to cover the cost of each production while maintaining accessible ticket pricing for all.
Donations directly impact the overall quality of the artistic program, help to ensure impactful engagement and community outreach opportunities and provide a freedom to program bold, diverse and original work alongside more established and classic favourites. Grand OnStage presents artists and performances not typically available in Kingston while providing performing arts experiences for a growing and diverse community.
What to Support
The Municipal Fee Assistance Program (MFAP) is an income-based program that provides Kingstonians with tickets to Grand OnStage performances at a reduced cost. Along with many other Grand OnStage discounts, MFAP is a critical program that ensures every community member, regardless of income level, has equal access to participate. A donation to this program ensures that deserving community members can continue to benefit from enriching cultural learning experiences through live performing arts at Kingston Grand Theatre.
Kingston Grand Theatre welcomed nearly 6,000 patrons to Grand OnStage’s 2025-26 School Performance Season, offering many young people the opportunity to experience live performing arts- some for the very first time. Students from JK to grade 12, along with their educators from Kingston and surrounding areas, attended nine presentations of six dynamic and diverse performances.
Throughout the season, students engaged with a broad range of professional, high-quality performances designed to spark curiosity, connection, and reflection.
