THE 16th EDITION OF THE JUST FOR LAUGHS ROAD SHOW HEADS BACK TO KINGSTON THIS SPRING!

Mo Mandel hosts an international line-up of Just For Laughs favourites starring Tom Thakkar, Courtney Gilmour and ISMO

Just For Laughs is thrilled to bring more of its funniest and favourite alumni with the Just for Laughs Road Show! Don’t miss four of the best stand-up comedians from the world’s largest and most prestigious comedy festival when the 16th edition of the Just for Laughs Road Show tours across Ontario this spring.

Mo Mandel has been on fire on all fronts. Along with making recent appearances on CBS’S hit show, 2 Broke Girls, and Comedy Central’s new sitcom, Corporate, Mo just released his first hour special on Amazon to critical acclaim, and the series that he created and executive produces, Comedy Knockout, recently premiered its 3rd season on truTV. Best known for making over 40 appearances on Chelsea Lately and hosting truTV’s Barmageddon, Mo has also made numerous appearances on Conan, The Late Late Show, has a half hour special on Comedy Central, and has even been a guest on big podcasts like Adam Corolla, The Fighter and The Kid, and Juicy Scoop. In the past, Mandel has acted on such hit shows as Modern Family, Castle, Happy Endings, and was one of the leads of NBC’S comedy Free Agents, opposite Hank Azaria. Mo is a real talent and always takes the audience on a wild ride that leaves them rolling.

Tom Thakkar is a New York-based stand-up comic, actor and writer originally from Bloomington, IN. Tom first burst onto the international comedy scene in 2015 when he was named a “New Face” by the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. He spent the next two years working on his craft in the cutthroat New York stand-up scene and touring regularly with friend and fellow comic Nikki Glaser. Then in November 2017, Tom made his late night debut on Conan and performed in the finals of the 2017 NBC StandUp for Diversity Competition on the same day. In February 2018, he made his satellite radio debut as co-host of Nikki Glaser’s daytime Comedy Central Radio show You Up with Nikki Glaser on Sirius Radio. During the summer of 2018, Tom was notified by Comedy Central that he had been selected to perform his own half-hour special as part of Season 3 of Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents. He also hosts the podcast Stand By Your Band, which the AV Club called ‘light-hearted, tangential, and relevant to today’ with fellow comic Tommy McNamara. Tom has been featured on This Week at the Comedy Cellar, Doug Loves Movies, VICE, NPR and The Todd Glass Show.

A killer combination of sharp writing and warm likability has made Courtney Gilmour one of Toronto's most sought after comedy talents. As a multiple limb amputee, Courtney manages to share her quips and musings about daily struggles with charming presence and extreme relatability. She delivered a breakout performance at the 2017 Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal by winning the Homegrown Comics Competition and filming a set for Kevin Hart's LOL Network. Courtney's victory at the 2017 Just for Laughs Homegrown was the first by a female comic in the 19-year history of the event. In 2018, she topped it with televised performances at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and Halifax Comedy Festival, as well as a triumphant return to the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival for a taping on The Comedy Network. Continuing the strong momentum, Courtney was one of the 42 acts at Toronto’s JFL42 festivals two years in a row with her own run of headlining shows. Courtney has been featured in magazines FASHION and Flare and has also made appearances on The Beaverton and CBC’s The Debaters. She co-produces the hit monthly show So Fresh N' So Clean at Comedy Bar, Toronto's only clean comedy show and has also opened for a number of international headlining acts.

The ultimate observer, ISMO is able to make people see familiar things anew through his unique perspective and uses his outsider’s point of view to find the humour in the most ordinary things. ISMO started his comedy career in 2002 in his home country of Finland and it was there ISMO wrote and starred in 2 seasons of his own sitcom, ISMO. He filmed four DVD specials from 2008 to 2016, and has sold-out numerous concert halls and theatres across the UK and Finland. He has also performed to sold-out crowds across the world including US, Canada, Australia, England, Scotland, Faroe Island, Denmark and Iceland. ISMO has been gaining attention at the biggest comedy festivals around the world including Just For Laughs in Montreal, JFL42 in Toronto, Just For Laughs Sydney, and the Edinburgh Fringe, to name a few. ISMO made his US debut in 2014 at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood where he won the title of “The Funniest Person in the World.” In December 2015, he relocated to Los Angeles from Finland and now performs regularly at the clubs in LA along with headlining across the US. He has appeared on national television; NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, and just became the first Finnish Comedian to perform on Conan in 2018. Ismo’s clip from Conan has been viewed 65+ million times. Founded in 1983, Just for Laughs is the largest international comedy festival in the world and with a mission like Make People Happy how can this show not be the funniest thing you have seen all year? Buying tickets before you know who the comedians are may seem a little scary, but with Just for Laughs in the title and sell out shows year after year you will not be disappointed that you got your tickets early.
