Christmas at Red Butte

Christmas at Red Butte is a new one act musical adapted from a short story by Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author of Anne of Green Gables. The story follows Theadora, a girl on a quest to save Christmas for her family. Canadian to the core, this production transports audiences to a winter on the Saskatchewan Prairie in the late 1890s, where Theadora’s young cousins are eagerly awaiting a visit from Santa.

A family friendly tale of holiday cheer in the face of hardship, Christmas at Red Butte features a mix of iconic Christmas songs, classic carols, and reworked hidden gems from the 19th century.

Adapted and directed by Brayah Pickard and Maysaa Alikhan, this show was created for Lemon Seed Production’s inaugural season, and is presented as part of their Professional Stream.

Estimated run time: 1 hour, no intermission.

Maximum seating capacity is 65.
