Sustainable Kingston and the City of Kingston are partnering to host The Kingston Climate Change Symposium at the Grand Theatre on January 19, 2018. This symposium aims to inspire action, showcase the latest developments in community-based climate initiatives, strengthen existing community networks and foster new ones. The day will kick-off with a talk by David Philips, Senior climatologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada followed by former Vancouver, B.C. Chief Planner and thought-leader, Brent Toderian. Starting at 4:00 p.m. attendees are invited to explore the exciting and innovative initiatives happening right here in Kingston with a series of Ted-talk style speakers. The event features a keynote presentation by Dr. Roberta Bondar, Canada's first female astronaut, who will speak about the need for change, social responsibility, and the environment.
