Examine the foundation of modern blues guitar playing with this JUNO award winner, and International Blues Challenge Best Guitarist. In this workshop, Steve will dig into the foundations of Blues guitar playing, specifically, vibrato, string bending, and expanding the blues pentatonic scale. No matter what level of playing you are at, there is something here for everyone. Every guitarist is different, and we will dig deep into finding and developing our own unique voice on the instrument.
WHAT: A workshop for (up to 10) Kingston guitarists with award-winning Canadian Blues musician Steve Strongman
WHEN: Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11 am – 12 pm
WHERE: Davies Lounge, Kingston Grand Theatre, 218 Princess St.
WHO: Blues guitarists ages 16+. Intermediate level and up.
COST: Free of charge. Presented by Grand OnStage and The City of Kingston.

- Participants should bring their own guitars.
- Spaces are limited and available on a first-come first-served basis via online registration form.
- All participants must be registered. Only those who have been successfully placed in the workshop will receive a confirmation email- please check your spam folder. The confirmation email will include a waiver that must be completed and submitted via email in advance of the workshop in order to attend (no exceptions). Minors (under 18 years of age) will require the signature of a parent or guardian on their waiver.

Debuting #1 in both the US and Canada, the record features Strongman with guests Bonnie Raitt, Billy Gibbons, Keb Mo, Taj Mahal, Mick Fleetwood, Elvin Bishop, and Terrence Simien. Strongman will be on tour supporting the Thunderbirds in 2024/2025.
