One Noble Journey is a widely-acclaimed, tour-de-force production transporting audiences back to 1849 in this award-winning one-man show.   Actor/playwright, Mike Wiley stars as Henry “Box” Brown, an African American born into slavery.  In an act of sheer desperation after being sold, Brown escapes and sees no alternative but to mail himself north in a wooden crate in this edge-of-your-seat attempt to reunite with his wife and children in Philadelphia.   

In this historical drama, Brown’s life unfolds like a Mark Twain adventure, perilous and somber at times while humourous and heroic throughout. Mike Wiley’s one-person, multi-character theatre works marvelously well as audience members join Wiley onstage, quickly and comfortably becoming pivotal players who help propel the action.  It’s no wonder Mike Wiley was recognized with an Indy Arts Award in 2012 for his achievement in theatrical arts.  One Noble Journey recounts the daring and miraculous quest for freedom we enjoy and love of family that lives in us all.
