Stella, Queen of the Snow tells the story of two children as they spend the day playing in the snow. The forest, snowballs, snow angels, and the mysterious white stuff itself provide fuel for Sam’s questions and Stella’s answers as they discover the world of winter together.
Based on Marie-Louise Gay’s book (as well as its French-language edition, Stella, reine des neiges), the staged version celebrates the antics of an endearing duo and broadens the appreciation of a Canadian literary classic. The hour-long production features the whimsical puppets, striking scenic effects, and evocative original music that have earned international recognition for Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia.
