Please note that this workshop takes place at Kingston School of Dance, Studio A; Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning
Dance students, pre-professional dancers and professional dance artists are invited to kick off the 2015-16 dance season with an exceptional artistic development opportunity. Dancers will join Peggy Baker and Sahara Morimoto as they teach a master class devoted to learning a brief excerpt of Peggy Baker’s choreographic repertoire. Sahara will lead dancers through a warm-up, and will be joined by Peggy for a coaching session that will allow dancers to gain an inspired understanding of Peggy’s movement vocabulary and choreographic intentions. This workshop provides dancers with a tantalizing preview of future residencies planned with Peggy Baker focused on mounting works from her Choreographer’s Trust.
While this event is free, registration is required. Please register at the link below. Registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note that space is limited to 20 participants; should the class be fully enrolled, a waiting list will be maintained and registrants will be notified if spaces become available.
Participants should come dressed to move freely in shorts, tights, or sweats. A personally labeled water bottle is also suggested.
Sincere thanks to the City of Kingston for presenting this workshop and to the Kingston School of Dance for hosting it.
