The Incomparble Holly Cole is now Dr. Holly Cole
At this very moment, Queen’s University is busy preparing for their 2016 spring convocation ceremony and festivities. Flashback with us now to 2014, just two short years ago.
It happened in Kingston on Friday, June 6, 2014, when Holly Cole shared the stage with a group of Queen’s University graduates at their spring convocation ceremony. At that time, Holly Cole was awarded an honourary degree and is now the distinguished Dr. Holly Cole.
During her speech, Holly acknowledged the importance of philanthropy, her ability as an artist to bring awareness and raise money for issues that are important on a local and international level, and the benefits of supporting and nurturing a sense of community. This presentation was followed by Holly performing for the students, faculty and guests.
Kingston’s love affair with Dr. Holly Cole continues. The Grand Theatre is welcoming Holly back for a one-night-only performance on Thursday, April 7 at 7:30p.m. The jazzy chanteuse has not only won 3 Juno awards, but has also won audiences’ hearts from Japan to Toronto to Sydney with musical interpretations of familiar songs performed with such style that you’ll wonder if you’ve ever really heard those musical notes and lyrics before.
