Our dance season opens with the return of a classic

The Grand Theatre Presents season has been bringing internationally-renowned dance artists from across the globe for more than six seasons. It has been exciting to see some of Canada's most bright choreographers and their companies - Kidd Pivot, Compagnie Coleman/Lemieux, RUBBERBANDance and Toronto Dance Theatre come to mind, as well as some artists making their Kingston debuts like Aszure Barton, Virginie Brunelle, Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, and Paul Taylor Dance Company.

The Kingston debut of Ailey II in October 2010, was a highlight for the Grand Theatre and the community. The close-to sold-out show featured this brilliant company in a mixed program. Now, five years later, this company is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a tour that features three scintillating works to be performed on the Grand Theatre stage.
