Back by popular demand, Ailey II returns this season to perform its latest work — A Celebration of American Dance — that features ballet set to some of the most dynamic and poignant examples of American music, including songs of Betty Carter and Philip Glass, plus traditional spirituals, gospel, and blues.

As performed by dancer and choreographer Peter Trosztmer, this remarkable one-man show, produced by 4D art in collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada, combines different art forms to reveal the power of the creative mind. By means of interviews, visuals, music, live performance and film, Norman explores the vision, power, and humanism of this celebrated Canadian artist.
