About The Mystery of Edwin Drood
Queen’s Musical Theatre is proud to present the solve-it-yourself murder mystery The Mystery of Edwin Drood as their Winter 2012 musical!
Originally debuting at the New York Shakespeare festival and eventually moving to Broadway, Drood was the winner of 5 Tony awards including Best Musical. Loosely based on Charles Dickens' famous unfinished novel, Drood takes audience participation to new heights by letting the audience vote for whomever they think murdered young Edwin Drood. Presented as a 'first night performance by The Music Hall Royale' featuring a troupe of hilarious Victorian actors, this affectionate recreation of a bygone theatrical age is certain to prove an enormous hit with everyone.

About Sylvia
A Comedy by A.R. Gurney; Directed by Will Britton
Greg, a middle aged man on the verge of a midlife crisis, gets a new lease on life when he adopts Sylvia, a stray lab-poodle cross. This new addition to the family becomes a bone of contention when his wife, Kate, takes an instant dislike to her husband’s furry companion. A.R. Gurney’s comedy is a hilarious and insightful examination marriage, love and the pitfalls of growing older.
Dramatic literature is stuffed with memorable love scenes, but none is as immediately delicious and dizzy as the one that begins the redeeming affair in A.R. Gurney’s comedy, Sylvia…” – NY Times “I can only call it one of the most involving, beautiful, funny, touching and profound plays I have ever seen…” – NY Daily News “Gurney’s mad comedy is the most endearing good time to trot down the pike in many a moon. Howlingly funny…” – BackStage

About THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA
The Queen's Student Opera Company welcomes you to celebrate its 15th season with its 2011/2012 main stage production, The Light in the Piazza.
The Light in the Piazza is a musical with a book by Craig Lucas and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel. Based on a novella by Elizabeth Spencer, it is set in Florence and Rome in the summer of 1953. A young American tourist, Clara Johnson, meets and falls for young Italian Fabrizio Naccarelli. When Clara's mother Margaret learns of the affair, she opposes it for reasons that only gradually become clear to the audience.
The winner of six Tony awards, including Best Original Score, critic John Simon of NY Magazine wrote: "...anyone who cares about the rather uncertain future of this truly American genre should—must—see the show, think and worry about it, and reach his or her own conclusions..."

About Mama Call / I Can See Myself in Your Pupil Suite
The mission of Gallim Dance is to create, to play inside the imagination, to find juxtapositions of the mind and body that resonate in the soul, to investigate our limitations and pleasures, and to realize the endless human capacity for inspiration. Artistic Director Andrea Miller's works are simultaneously kinetic and intimate expressions of the self and its inner mosaic of weakness, desires, and struggles. Her use of extreme physicality – movement that shifts between explosive power and contained tension – creates an experience where the dancers appear to exist at the edge of their limits.
Mama Call is a collection of new material and selected works that address Miller’s Sephardic-American story and examine how those who have been displaced can reclaim an idea of “home.”
I Can See Myself in Your Pupil is an exhilarating suite of wildly quirky dances. Performed to the contagious music of Israeli band Balkan Beat Box, the dance is a joyous romp that plays with the madness of imagination and the ecstasy of movement.
Talk back: Join us immediately following the performance for a discussion with the dancers.

About WHAT MILDRED DID
A Comedy by John Green (an Oshawa Author).
Mildred is the full time housekeeper for Gwen and Charles Harrison III. The household also includes Lorenzo, the very colourful cook. Charles has a problem - he acts out so he can write "the world's greatest murder mystery play", but he's a lousy writer and it's getting him down.
Enter mouse Mildred. She has done something that makes Charles alternately excited and deeply depressed.
Throw in Lorenzo in a huff, Gwen feeling neglected and Mr. Fenwick, the publisher, who feels great affection for them all and you have a crazy, funny mix that gets more and more complicated.
Starring Terry Wade, Joy Worsnup, Brent Neely, David Lay and Katie Flower Smith as Mildred.
