Domino Theatre Inc.

Domino Theatre Inc., currently in its 56th season is Kingston's not for profit, charitable status Community Theatre founded in 1952 by a group of like minded residents to give people a place to learn about theatre, and provide their fellow Kingstonians with wonderful artistic experiences. Domino Theatre Inc. is governed by a volunteer board of fifteen citizens elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting in September. All our productions are created by volunteers.

Domino produces seven full length plays each year from September to June through open auditions and effective use of community volunteers to carry out the behind the scenes responsibilities. We also encourage the development of local talent through New Script Readings written by local playwrights and host a One-Act Play Festival in June where nine one-act plays are presented over three nights by local groups. A panel of judges and audience votes choose a winner, who represents Domino Theatre at the Eastern Ontario Drama League One-Act Festival in the fall.

Domino also supports the community by offering twenty percent of our productions to other not for profit groups for their own fundraising purposes. Domino Theatre is truly a Community Theatre.

We are a member of the Eastern Ontario Drama League and Theatre Ontario and regularly enter their professionally adjudicated Festivals.
